Whereas landlords should charge VAT when renting property to “tourists” as per Article 18 of the Malta Travel and Tourism Act, light has been shed on the fact that IIP clients should not be classified as “tourists” in terms of the Act mentioned above and that therefore no VAT should be charged when renting property for the purposes of IIP obligations.
